OCDiesel Automotive Repair Workmanship Warranty & Limited Liability Policy
This Automotive Repair Workmanship Warranty & Limited Liability Policy applies to repair, diagnostic, installation, and service work performed by OCDiesel, unless otherwise stated in writing on the customer’s invoice, estimate, work order, or a separate written warranty document.
This policy is intended to clearly define the warranty provided by OCDiesel on workmanship. It does not replace, extend, or alter any non-waivable rights a customer may have under applicable provincial or federal law.
1. Workmanship Warranty Coverage
OCDiesel warrants the workmanship performed by its technicians for a period of one (1) year or 20,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first, from the date of the original repair invoice.
This warranty applies only to defects directly caused by the labor, installation, assembly, or repair work performed by OCDiesel.
If OCDiesel determines that a failure was caused by a workmanship-related defect within the warranty period, OCDiesel will correct the workmanship issue at no additional labor charge to the customer.
The sole remedy under this workmanship warranty is the re-performance or correction of the affected labor by OCDiesel.
2. What Workmanship Means
For the purpose of this policy, workmanship refers only to the quality of labor performed by OCDiesel during the authorized repair or service. This may include, where applicable:
- Incorrect installation of a component by OCDiesel
- Improper assembly of parts by OCDiesel
- Failure to properly complete a labor operation that was authorized and invoiced
- A labor-related issue directly connected to the original repair performed by OCDiesel
Workmanship does not include part failure, manufacturer defects, supplier defects, customer-supplied parts, pre-existing vehicle conditions, unrelated failures, wear and tear, tuning/calibration issues, misuse, neglect, or failures caused by vehicle modifications.
3. Parts, Components, and Materials
Parts, components, fluids, seals, gaskets, sensors, electrical components, tuning devices, hardware, accessories, and other materials are not covered under OCDiesel’s workmanship warranty unless specifically stated in writing.
Any warranty on parts is limited to the warranty provided by the original manufacturer, distributor, or parts supplier, if applicable.
OCDiesel may assist with a manufacturer or supplier warranty claim where reasonable, but approval, replacement, credit, labor coverage, shipping coverage, and warranty decision-making remain the responsibility of the manufacturer or supplier.
OCDiesel is not responsible for manufacturer or supplier delays, denied claims, discontinued parts, backorders, warranty processing times, shipping delays, diagnostic requirements, or any costs not approved by the manufacturer or supplier.
4. Customer-Supplied Parts
OCDiesel does not provide any warranty on customer-supplied parts.
When a customer requests that OCDiesel install a customer-supplied part, the customer accepts full responsibility for the quality, fitment, condition, application, compatibility, completeness, and performance of that part.
OCDiesel’s workmanship warranty on customer-supplied parts is limited strictly to the labor performed by OCDiesel and does not cover:
- Part failure
- Incorrect part application
- Poor fitment
- Missing hardware
- Used or damaged parts
- Defective remanufactured parts
- Incorrectly supplied parts
- Parts that require modification to fit
- Additional labor needed to remove, replace, diagnose, or warranty the supplied part
If a customer-supplied part fails, leaks, does not fit, is defective, or causes additional damage, all diagnostic time, removal, replacement, reinstallation, towing, fluids, shop supplies, and related costs are the responsibility of the customer.
5. Used, Performance, Aftermarket, and Specialty Parts
Used, aftermarket, performance, racing, custom, remanufactured, modified, or specialty parts may carry limited or no manufacturer warranty.
OCDiesel does not guarantee that any aftermarket, performance, custom, or modified part will perform the same as an original equipment part or meet the customer’s expectations for noise, drivability, power, emissions compliance, longevity, fuel economy, towing performance, or reliability.
Any warranty on these parts is limited to the written warranty, if any, provided by the manufacturer or supplier.
6. Diagnostics and Repair Recommendations
Diagnostics are performed based on the symptoms, fault codes, data, inspection results, test results, and vehicle condition present at the time the vehicle is inspected.
Automotive and diesel diagnostic work may involve intermittent faults, multiple failures, hidden damage, electrical issues, software-related concerns, prior repairs, aftermarket modifications, or conditions that are not immediately visible.
A diagnostic recommendation is not a guarantee that no other problems exist. Additional faults may become apparent after initial repairs are completed or once the vehicle is operated under different conditions.
OCDiesel is not responsible for unrelated issues, hidden failures, intermittent concerns, pre-existing conditions, or additional repairs that become necessary after the original repair.
7. Warranty Claim Requirements
To qualify for warranty consideration, the customer must:
- Present the original OCDiesel invoice.
- Notify OCDiesel as soon as possible after noticing the issue.
- Stop operating the vehicle if continued operation may cause further damage.
- Return the vehicle to OCDiesel for inspection before any outside repairs are performed.
- Allow OCDiesel reasonable time to inspect, diagnose, and authorize the warranty claim.
- Provide maintenance records, fluid records, break-in records, or supporting documentation if requested.
- Ensure the vehicle is in substantially the same condition as when it left OCDiesel, except for normal use.
No warranty claim will be approved until OCDiesel has inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the issue was caused by a workmanship-related defect covered by this policy.
8. Return-to-Facility Requirement
The vehicle must be returned to OCDiesel for inspection and warranty repair authorization.
OCDiesel must be given the first opportunity to inspect and correct any alleged workmanship concern.
Repairs performed by another shop, technician, dealership, individual, or the customer without prior written authorization from OCDiesel may void warranty coverage for the affected repair.
OCDiesel will not be responsible for outside labor charges, outside diagnostic charges, towing, storage, replacement parts, or repairs performed elsewhere unless OCDiesel approved those costs in writing before the work was performed.
9. Exclusions from Warranty Coverage

10. Performance, Tuning, and Modified Vehicles
Vehicles equipped with aftermarket tuning, emissions modifications, fuel system upgrades, turbocharger upgrades, lift pumps, injectors, upgraded transmissions, oversized tires, lift kits, or other performance modifications may operate outside original manufacturer design parameters.
OCDiesel does not guarantee the reliability, legality, emissions compliance, drivability, fuel economy, power output, or long-term durability of any modified vehicle.
Any failure caused by tuning, calibration, increased cylinder pressure, excessive exhaust gas temperature, overspeed, overfueling, altered emissions equipment, or operation outside manufacturer specifications is excluded from warranty coverage.
11. Customer Responsibility After Repair
The customer is responsible for properly operating, maintaining, and monitoring the vehicle after repair.
This includes, where applicable:
- Checking fluid levels
- Watching gauges and warning lights
- Addressing leaks, noises, smells, smoke, vibration, or drivability concerns immediately
- Following service intervals
- Following break-in procedures
- Returning for requested inspections or re-torques
- Using the correct fuel, oil, coolant, filters, and fluids
- Avoiding continued operation when a problem is suspected
Damage caused by continued operation after a warning sign or failure symptom appears is not covered.
12. Fluids, Filters, Shop Supplies, and Consumables
Fluids, filters, sealants, gaskets, clamps, hardware, shop supplies, environmental fees, and consumables are not covered under this workmanship warranty unless OCDiesel determines they are required solely to correct an approved workmanship defect.
Routine maintenance items and wear items are excluded.
13. Towing, Transportation, Downtime, and Incidental Costs
Unless required by applicable law or approved by OCDiesel in writing before costs are incurred, this warranty does not cover:
- Towing
- Vehicle recovery
- Roadside assistance
- Shipping
- Freight
- Vehicle transport
- Rental vehicles
- Loaner vehicles
- Taxi, rideshare, fuel, hotel, meals, or travel costs
- Lost wages
- Lost revenue
- Lost profits
- Missed work
- Downtime
- Storage fees
- Diagnostic charges from another facility
- Third-party labor
- Consequential, incidental, indirect, or special damages
14. Commercial, Fleet, and Severe-Duty Use
Vehicles used for commercial, fleet, towing, hotshot, oilfield, construction, delivery, competition, agricultural, industrial, or severe-duty use may experience accelerated wear and higher failure risk.
OCDiesel’s workmanship warranty still applies only to covered workmanship defects, but does not cover failures caused by duty cycle, load, operating conditions, neglect, overheating, overloading, contamination, lack of maintenance, or use beyond manufacturer limits.
15. Warranty Decision
OCDiesel will determine warranty eligibility after inspection and diagnosis.
Warranty approval is based on whether the failure was directly caused by a covered workmanship defect within the warranty period.
The existence of a failure during the warranty period does not automatically mean the failure is covered.
OCDiesel may request maintenance records, photos, data logs, failed parts, manufacturer inspection results, or other supporting information before approving or denying a warranty claim.
16. No Unauthorized Warranty Promises
No employee, advisor, technician, contractor, representative, or third party is authorized to modify, extend, waive, or expand this warranty unless the change is provided in writing and approved by OCDiesel management.
Verbal statements, text messages, emails, estimates, recommendations, or informal comments do not create additional warranty coverage unless specifically confirmed in writing as a warranty term.
17. Limits of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OCDiesel’s liability for any covered workmanship claim is limited to correcting the workmanship-related issue at OCDiesel’s facility.
OCDiesel is not liable for incidental, indirect, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of income, lost profits, vehicle downtime, towing, travel, accommodations, replacement transportation, storage, or third-party repair costs, except where such limitations are not permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or waived.
18. Parts Warranty Assistance
Where a part installed by OCDiesel may be covered by a manufacturer or supplier warranty, OCDiesel may assist the customer with submitting the claim.
The customer remains responsible for any costs not covered by the manufacturer or supplier, including diagnostic time, labor, fluids, shipping, duties, taxes, towing, and replacement part costs, unless otherwise approved in writing.
Manufacturer or supplier warranty decisions are final and are outside OCDiesel’s control.
19. Maintenance and Documentation
Failure to provide maintenance records when requested may result in warranty denial where maintenance is relevant to the failure.
Maintenance must be performed using appropriate fluids, filters, parts, and procedures for the vehicle and application.
For engines, fuel systems, turbochargers, transmissions, driveline components, and other major repairs, the customer may be required to follow specific break-in, inspection, fluid change, and service procedures.
20. Final Terms
This warranty applies only to the original customer named on the original invoice and is not transferable unless approved by OCDiesel in writing.
This warranty applies only to the specific repair listed on the invoice.
This policy is governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the repair was performed.
If any part of this policy is found to be unenforceable, the remaining sections remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
OCDiesel reserves the right to update this policy at any time. The warranty terms in effect on the date of the original repair invoice will apply to that repair unless otherwise required by law.
