2007.5-2024 Cummins 6.7L Banks 750W or 1500W Billet Heater Kit (42809)
We followed RAM's cold start recommendations. Per the owner’s manual, RAM recommends the use of the block heater when the temperature drops below 0°F/-17°C and mandates the block heater at temperatures below -20°F/-29°C.
Using a controlled climate chamber, our first test utilized block heat and two Banks coil heaters (1500 watts total). The Monster-Ram® enabled our test truck to cold start down to -30°F/-34°C.
Against RAM’s recommendations, we also attempted to cold start with the same two coil heaters and no block heat. We were able to cold start down to -20°F/-29°C. Adding a third coil heater (2,250 watts total), the truck started at -30°F/-34°C.*
*Battery boosting may be required for sufficient cranking RPM.
The included MAP relocation kit is for use with a Banks Monster-Ram with a billet heater kit and will not fit stock intake horns.
